After reading today that the plant is in testing phases now and that completion is nearing I can begin to hope this will provide a positive impact for Brookville’s water quality. I am amongst the group who feels the water straight out of the tap is less than palatable. Even going to local restaurants and ordering anything other than soda, which I like to avoid, has become something I dread due to the taste of the water.

I guess time will tell and I certainly have my fingers and toes crossed for this one.

Sorry for a non Brookville Pa related post but I wanted to share a new site my team is working on now. Brookville Then and Now – Photo Book of Brookville PA

I received a review copy of the book Brookville Then and Now a while back form the publisher in the midst of my relocation and sadly never got much past the first few pages. Not that there was anything wrong with it, but literally because it arrived the day before I packed up my entire house.

Long story short I just recently had a chance to go through it from cover to cover and I loved it. I am both a photography buff and a history geek so it was truly enjoyable for me to get to enjoy a bit of both at the same time. If you have not been around for much of Brookville’s history or maybe want to relive some you should really consider checking it out.

It is for sale on the publishers website as well as at Amazon.com.

We are currently looking for 2-3 people who would like to become Bloggers here at Brookville Life. com. You do not have to have a background in writing or photography only a desire to learn and computer literacy. Since this is a voluntary position (no monetary compensation at least to start) the ideal candidates would be either a local professional or business owner who would trade Blogging for free advertising or someone who would simply like to share their experiences and knowledge.

Although blogging about Brookville related topics and events is highly desirable, we are going to open the site up to any topic that would be of interest to the people of Brookville. This of course means that topics are wide open to your creativity and only limited by the need to keep them family friendly.

Upon consideration of our options to sell the site or re-purpose it we decided to tweak the way we use the site while leaving some of the same functions intact. Staying will be the discussion forum with the option for users to have their own blog. Coming back soon will be the business directory. And completely changing will be the site purpose.

Instead of just being a brookville pa only site we have decided to turn it into a web magazine of sorts with a decided slant towards Pa and Brookville when possible.
